In a Facebook post and press release on July 16, 2026, Port Orange Community Trust (responsible for the annual Port Orange Family Days event) announced the cancellation of the 2026 event, citing logistical and venue difficulties.

My name is Bryon White, and I'm running for Volusia County Council, District 3. I believe local government works best when it is grounded in service, accountability, and long-term stewardship of the land and water that define our community. I was born in Volusia County, and began my career in public service here as an ocean rescue lifeguard at 16 and later served as an EMT and law enforcement officer with Volusia County Public Protection.
