A Legacy That Began in 1953
Serving up soft serve and smiles since 1953, Dairy Queen has remained a beloved landmark in New Smyrna Beach for generations of residents and visitors alike. Known for its classic treats and nostalgic charm, the local favorite became a gathering spot during the highway culture boom of the 1950s and 1960s and continues to welcome customers more than 70 years later.

Now in its third generation of family ownership, the Dairy Queen has preserved the traditions that made it a staple in the community while embracing thoughtful improvements over the years. In 2007, owner Jason McGuirk oversaw renovations designed to maintain the building’s historic character while enhancing the customer experience. The project included expanded seating and a larger parking area, carefully planned around the property’s mature trees to create a relaxing, park-like atmosphere.
