RallyWell Opens Air-Conditioned Indoor Pickleball Club in DeLand

DELAND — What was once the Victoria Square 6 Theatre has found a new purpose. Following a two-year transformation, the former movie theater at 1798 S. Woodland Blvd. officially celebrated its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony this week as RallyWell Pickleball & Wellness Club, a locally owned destination where recreation, wellness, dining and community come together under one roof.

The facility features seven climate-controlled indoor pickleball courts, a wellness and recovery spa offering six premium experiences and a full-service restaurant and bar. More than a sports facility, RallyWell was designed as a place where people of all ages can gather, stay active, build friendships and create meaningful connections year-round.

The vision came from founders Greg and Maria Trent of Beyer & Brown Hospitality Group and Back Alley Lanes VR-Cade, along with partners David and Melanie Morhain, owners of Gator’s Dockside DeLand and Peanuts Sports Bar. Several years ago, while watching the remarkable sense of community surrounding the rapidly growing sport of pickleball, they realized they wanted to create something bigger than simply a place to play.

“We joked that pickleball looked like one big retirement party,” Maria Trent said. “Then we looked at each other and thought, ‘What if we built a place where people of every age could experience that same sense of belonging?’ That’s how RallyWell was born.”

That vision evolved into transforming an empty theater into a community gathering place where recreation, wellness, dining, business networking, charitable events and everyday friendships could all happen in one location.

“We’re not a franchise. We’re not a chain,” Trent said. “We’re your neighbors. We live here, we own businesses here and we’re committed to investing in Volusia County through business, community partnerships and service.”

RallyWell is the only indoor pickleball facility in East Central Florida to combine indoor courts with dedicated wellness and recovery experiences, creating a destination where guests can play, recover, dine and connect in one visit. The wellness center features HydroMassage, a dry cold plunge, a traditional sauna, red light therapy, RelaxSpace pods and private showers. The restaurant and bar provide a welcoming place for members and guests to gather before or after playing.

Programming is designed for every generation, from youth camps and beginner clinics to advanced instruction, open play, wellness programs, corporate team-building events, birthday celebrations, charity tournaments and community gatherings. Guests can also enjoy the wellness experiences without ever stepping onto a pickleball court.

“We didn’t build RallyWell simply to create another place to play pickleball,” Trent said. “We built it because communities need places where people genuinely connect again. Our hope is that RallyWell becomes the place where friendships begin, businesses collaborate, families celebrate milestones, nonprofits find support and everyone feels welcome.”

The celebration continues with two upcoming community events. On Tuesday, July 28, RallyWell will host a free exhibition featuring two of the world’s top 10 Major League Pickleball professional players.

The public is also invited to RallyWell’s grand opening and open house beginning at noon Saturday, Aug. 1. Guests can enjoy guided court tours, raffles, complimentary light bites, opportunities to experience the club’s wellness and recovery amenities and a special appearance by ARCA Menards Series driver Alli Owens, who will have her race car on display.

Visitors are also encouraged to support the Beyond the Backpack community drive through Aug. 1 by donating new backpacks, school supplies appropriate for teenagers and new athletic shoes to help local youth and families prepare for the upcoming school year.
