Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, this dramatic musical tells the story of Dr. Henry Jekyll, a well-meaning but misguided scientist determined to separate good from evil. Believing he can neutralize darkness so that goodness may prevail, Jekyll develops a serum and seeks permission from hospital leadership to test it on a patient. When his request is denied, he makes the fateful decision to perform the experiment on himself.
The result unleashes Edward Hyde, a violent and dangerous alter ego who terrorizes London and pulls Jekyll deeper into a tragic struggle he can no longer control. As his life unravels, the story explores ambition, obsession, love, morality, and the darkness that can exist within.
With its gothic atmosphere and soaring score, Jekyll & Hyde features several well-known musical numbers, including “Lost in the Darkness,” “Façade,” “This is the Moment,” “Someone Like You” and “Confrontation.”
Don’t miss this gripping and emotional musical experience at The Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach.
