When Dutch Oven Bread Co. opened its doors last October, the goal was simple. To bake sourdough bread and buttery, laminated pastries worth waking up early for! Less than a year later, the community has answered back. This month, the bakery was named winner of the Communities' Choice Award for Volusia-Flagler.

One of the best parts of owning a small business in Edgewater and now NSB has been the relationships we've built along the way. Since starting out of our home kitchen in 2020, we've collaborated with other local businesses. Even short seasons together helped get our name (and hopefully theirs) out there. Today we're highlighting a few businesses who've supported Dutch Oven since the early days and continue to grow alongside us.

Dutch Oven Bread Co. owner Candice Uyttewaal and artist Erin Andrews have been friends since high school. Candice still remembers sitting in class and watching her sketch so effortlessly!

Located in the heart of Edgewater, Dutch Oven Bread Co., is more than just a bakery.

Founded in March 2020 by Fabio and Candice Uyttewaal, Dutch Oven Bread Co. has a name that’s a nod to Fabio’s Dutch roots and a super cool baking technique using a Dutch oven to whip up the most perfect, artisan-style loaves. Fabio, or “Fabe” as Candice lovingly calls him, shared a little baking secret with me.
